04/2021-08/2023, postdoc at JAMSTEC, supervised by Tatsu Kuwatani and me. During my stay at ERI, University of Tokyo, in summer 2018, I had difficulties interpreting the images of the mantle just beneath the Caroline plate. Atsushi was a postdoc in the office next door. We started discussing, and he showed me how the subduction regime differs depending on plate velocity. Since then we have been collaborators and published a first paper together. From 2021 he was a postdoc at JAMSTEC, working with me on the multidisciplinary interpretation of seismic attenuation. The project aims to understand the link between viscosity in geodynamics and attenuation in seismology, which has not been discussed enough so far. He is now an assistant professor at Akita University.
